Bernedoodles

Bernese Mountain Dog x Poodle = A Double Dose of Fun!

Past & Present T Rose Bernedoodles

What's a Bernedoodle Look Like?

Bernedoodles are typically fluffy with medium long hair and bushy brows; our beautiful Bernedoodles above are great examples!

They're typically four sizes-

  • Giant Bernedoodles - weight averages 110-150 pounds, around 36 inches tall, lives for 8-12 years.

  • Standard Bernedoodles - weight averages 61–100 pounds, around 29 inches tall, lives for 12–15 years.

  • Mini Bernedoodles - weight averages 20–45 pounds, around 22 inches tall, lives 14–16 years.

  • Toy Bernedoodles - weight is usually less than 20 pounds, stands 12–17 inches tall, lives up to 18 years.

How are the different sized Bernedoodles Bred?

A dog in either size category remains a Bernese Mountain Dog-Poodle mix, but each size has its own particular diet, activity and lifestyle needs. Toy and Miniature Bernedoodles can each live happily in a condo or an apartment but a Standard or Giant Bernedoodle would really chafe at a lack of space to roam and run. Even though these dogs are super adaptable and even tempered, the proper environment should be considered regarding your pup's size to ensure he or she can happily fit into your family home.

Allergies

Ironically, even though Bernedoodles are known to be a good fit for people with pet dander allergies, this breed can actually experience allergies of their own. Whether food borne or environmental, signs usually include persistent itching or licking, rashes, skin and ear infections, and hair loss.

If you notice any of these symptoms, talk to your vet to develop a treatment plan.
